Boys
Home :
The Home accommodate 500 youth going to the ITC. About
one hundred and twenty five children and fifty toddlers
from the school also call our hostels home. A group
of wardens and a chief warden care for the children
like their own. A tough time table and strict discipline
ensure that children focus on constructive activity.
The children work, play and study in equal measure.
Boys Town teaches team spirit. The boys are divided
into four houses which compete with each other in games
and extra-curricular activities. They are led by their
own role models. A point system, with positive marks
for gains and negatives for losses and rule-breaking,
ensures a healthy atmosphere. The boys enjoy the game
of learning to survive.
The needle of interest
for our future activities will continue to point unerringly
in the direction of sustainability. As the complexity
of life increases, the problems of survival, sustenance
and growth become amenable to more and more skilled
solutions. Thus, the strategy we at Boys Town will follow
to move towards our guiding star is to teach appropriate
and sustainable skills. This is the lesson which we
are trying to learn again and again, so that we find
new and meaningful ways of meeting our deepest purpose. |
