These activities form part of the curriculum. After 5
hours of study in the schools it is a must that children
should have some exercise. After game and bath they will
feel more refreshed and better prepared for some serious
study.
The various activites
conducted out side class hours are no hindrance to study.
It is noticed that children who take part in all these
activities do much better in their studies than other
who always sit with their books. It is not more time,
but better concentration that matters.
The annual sports and
games meet and Literary and Olympaid for the students
of Monfort schools help in bringing out the innate talents
and give an exposure to the maximum number of students.
In order to cater to
the tastes and abilities of as many students as possible
the following co- curricular activities are maintained
in the schools.
Games:
- Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Table
Tennis, Net ball and Shuttle Badminton.
Physical Training:
- Regular physical training classes are conducted
for the whole schools.It is compulsory for every student
to take part in the physical training classes.
Karate and Yoga classes are conducted once in a week.
Field Sports:
- Various athleticevents are conducted
once a year generally during the second term. Prizes
and certificates are awarded to the winners on the
schools day.
- Outstanding sports person are given
special training and opportunities are given to take
part in the district and state's sports met.
Recreations:
- For recreation and relaxation of
mind and body the use of radios, radio gramme, and
tape- records are made available during the room intervals.
- For sake of the children a children's
corner with slides swings etc., is maintained in te
school.
Library:
At least once a week the entire class is taken to the
library by the teacher concerned. The students are encouraged
to visit the library during the lunch interval.
Mass Drill:
The eight period on
all Wednesdays is utilised for mass drill, participation
in the mass drill is compulsory for all the students.
